Valley Africa

Zambia is located in south central Africa, home to Victoria falls and the famous 19th century missionary David Livingstone. Our supported school is in the capital city, Lusaka, in a very poor and crowded area known as the Mtendere compound. School isn’t free in Zambia, and many children are considered “vulnerable”, meaning they are too poor to attend school. With little to no education, most of these vulnerable children grow up to have no skill or trade and are left in a cycle of poverty.

How It Started

Pastor Jim and Valley Vegas Church arrived in 2009, looking to see where we could help. We met the Sitalis, and saw their struggles to provide for more than 200 children. We were hooked. We started helping immediately by providing a needed water supply. We then started giving a monthly financial donation to ensure the children were provided a hot meal while at school and the teachers were paid salaries. Because of our financial partnership, the school has been able to take in over 300 children at Living Hope School and have also been able to start a new school campus for 80 children in another remote region of Lusaka.

Meet Our Local Leaders

Many years ago, Pastors Ernest and Laikah Sitali started bringing street children into their home and giving them a Christ-centered education. Their home became too small and their church, Streams of Living Waters, opened its doors to educate the children. Later, a donor built classrooms on the church property and Living Hope Community School was created.

How You Can Help

Funding for the school is raised by monthly donors giving $30 per month. 100% of these donations are sent directly to the school. With these donations, we are able to ensure all the students are fed, educated, and discipled for Christ.
